It took all of a couple of hours for rabid gun control enthusiasts to jump on the tragic shooting in Roanoke Virginia, and use it to push their agenda.
Absolutely shameful. They used to wait at least a few hours before politicizing tragedy, now it's instantaneous. pic.twitter.com/YF0UC3qkEd

We need to have the debate on gun control more than ever now. #VirginiaShooting

The Governor of Virginia, Terry McAuliffe, immediately used the tragedy to push his support for tighter gun control.
“There are too many guns in the hands of people who should not have guns,” he said. “That is why I’ve long advocated for background checks. … We’ve got, in America, we’ve got to come together. There’s too much gun violence in the United States of America.”
@GovernorVA already pushing for more gun control. Never waste a crisis/tragedy. #alinsky #VirginiaShooting

3hrs all it took for VA gov to mention gun control after 2 journalists shot dead. Poor Taste #wdbj

A TV reporter and cameraman with WDBJ-TV were shot and killed live on air.
Initial reports indicate that the killer was a disgruntled ex-employee of the same news station.
The sad thing is that if you bring up gun control people accuse you of trying to use a tragedy to further your politcal agenda.

Horrible. If we had gun control legislation, this + SO MANY other shootings may not have ever happened..#guncontrol https://t.co/Ru8hmVWyjR

If journalists want to make a change, perhaps they should start showing less cat video segments and more gun control segments. #roanoke

To those saying, "it's not the gun, it's the person," How about we get some stricter gun control to prevent said person from getting guns?
— Heather (@IzPandaface) August 26, 2015
I'm so disgusted. This is enough. We desperately need to sort out gun control.
— jenny angela (@jennyangelapark) August 26, 2015
Can we talk about gun control yet?
— Chris Camburides (@homesickalien88) August 26, 2015
So tell me again why we don't need some sort of gun control legislation? https://t.co/5nGnYy8kY6
— Jason Shoff (@Shoffology) August 26, 2015
When will this madness stop? Come on America, join the rest of the civilised world and introduce better controls on guns. #WDBJ #guncontrol

Sad to see a innocent news reporter and cameraman and interviewee shot by a fukn idiot…when will we get gun control until everyone dies?!?
— Wolf of Broadmead st (@where_J_happens) August 26, 2015
Rest in Peace to Alison Parker & Adam Ward. In a smarter country, things like this would cause real change re: gun control.
