Yes, Virginia, the Devil does exist, and his name is Jerry Andrew Active. Just hours after being released from jail in Anchorage, Alaska, Active went on a diabolical rampage that ended in the brutal death of an elderly Alaska couple and the horrifying rape of their 2-year-old granddaughter.

Jerry Andrew Active, 24, had been serving time for a probation violation. Released from the Anchorage Correctional Complex shortly after 8 a.m. On Saturday, May 25, he wormed his way through an open window in the victim’s home less than 12 hours later.

The victims, 71-year-old Touch Chean and his 73-year-old wife, Sorn Sreap, were discovered when the couple’s grandson and his wife arrived home. At the same time, they also discovered Active raping their 2-year-old daughter.

Active was arrested at the scene and has been charged with murder, sexual assault, sexual abuse of a minor and burglary. Bail has been set at $1.5 million.

According to The Blaze, Active has been in and out of jail since 2007. In 2009, he was arrested for sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl while the family slept, then assaulting three other members of the household.

In 2010, Active was convicted on charges of attempted sexual abuse of a minor and trespassing.

Department of Corrections spokeswoman Kaci Schroeder said Active violated his probation repeatedly, “sometimes being arrested on the very day he got out of jail.”

The Blaze report says, “From Oct. 2, 2011 to when police arrested him Saturday, Active had spent 18 days on the outside, according to a timeline released by the Department of Corrections.”

“He messed up quickly and repeatedly,” Schroeder said, each time earning a new, short jail sentence.
