Saeed al-Shehri is described as the deputy Amir of al-Qaeda AQAP (Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula).

Back in January, the Yemen Observer was obliged to issue a retraction. It said Saeed al-Shehri, described as the deputy Amir of al-Qaeda AQAP (Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula), was captured.

But it turns out the man captured was Yusuf al-Shehri. He was grabbed after a car he was riding in and also carrying other al-Qaeda militants flipped over in the district of Sylan in Shabwah province near the borders of Marib province in Yemen. The Yemen Observer issued an apology for the mistake.

The real Saeed al-Shehri is back in the news today. According to the Jerusalem Post, al-Qaeda will take advantage of a war “by the Jews against Iran.” If Israel attacks Iran, according to al-Shehri, Iran will blame Saudi Arabia and move to seize the holy cities of Mecca and Medina in Saudi Arabia.

Israel will take advantage of this and will then seize territory from surrounding Arab nations to establish “the greater state of Israel,” and the Sunni Arab population of the Middle East will be trapped between the “Jews in the Middle East and Iran in the Peninsula,” the Daily Beast reports al-Shehri as stating.

How would al-Qaeda benefit from the ensuing conflict? It would benefit from an Israel-Iran war if Israel attacked Iran’s nuclear installations and Iran uses its proxies to attack Americans in the Gulf, Iraq, and Afghanistan. In short, al-Qaeda is all for an Israeli attack on Iran.

So much for Islamic solidarity against the Great Satan.

Not a surprising conclusion for a terror organization created by the CIA. It’s rather ironic that al-Qaeda whole-heartedly agrees with its enemies (again). It seems the faux terror group has a lot in common with the neocons and the Likudniks.
