Donald Trump snagged a surprise last-minute endorsement from Florida’s attorney general Monday while Marco Rubio traveled nearly the entire East Coast of the state in a furious last-ditch attempt to whip up support before voters cast ballots today.
There was a flurry of activity on the GOP side on the eve of Florida’s presidential primary but no campaigning from the Democratic candidates, who instead sent surrogates to rally voters.
Trump received a boost from Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, the first big name state leader to formally support him.
Bondi introduced Trump during a rally in Tampa and released a statement saying he is “unafraid to tell it like it is and will do something about renewing America’s strength and greatness.”
