A 93-year-old Tuskegee Airmen traveling to visit his daughter in St. Louis was robbed and carjacked Sunday during two separate incidents.

After getting lost in the city’s north side at 11:30 p.m., the unidentified World War II veteran stopped to ask for directions at the intersection of McPherson and Sarah.

Reports indicate that an unknown man, who appeared to be giving the airman directions, entered the veteran’s vehicle and took cash out of his pockets.

Attempting to follow the perpetrator, who jumped into a vehicle and fled the scene, the 93-year-old then approached two black males several blocks down the street and asked for help.

As the airmen stepped out of his vehicle to explain his situation, the two men rushed past him and drove off in his Maroon 2012 Honda Accord Sedan.

According to the St. Louis police, who have yet to locate the three suspects, the veteran’s vehicle was discovered two days later by a local resident.

The Tuskegee Airmen were the United States Armed Forces’ first African-American fighter and bomber pilots during World War II.
