John McCain once said Donald Trump attracts “crazies” to his campaign and the billionaire real estate mogul fired back with his infamous “not a war hero” comment. Depending on your definition of “crazy,” Trump ran into someone who he might even put that label on during a recent campaign event.
The 9/11 Truth movement is a curious one, comprised of thousands of people who doubt the official government account of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. The theories range from the possible, to the out right delusional, but nonetheless different splinter groups that have grown out of the movement are alive and well in all 50 states, and around the world. Taking questioning from the press at his “family picnic” in Oskaloosa, Iowa on July 25, Trump was bewildered when a 9/11 Truth activist made his way into the press room.
Rick Shaddock is an activist for 9/11 Truth and the co-founder of the Association of Nine Eleven Truth Activists. After Shaddock was able to gain access to the press room, he asked Trump a question that left the billionaire confused and dumbfounded. “As a builder of many skyscrapers, you know they’re built to be strong,” Shaddock asked Trump, before saying “Many people have questions about how those towers came down.” “The World Trade Center?” Trump responded with confusion. After Shaddock simply answered with a “yeah,” Trump rolled his eyes, and asked, “Is this guy some kind of conspiracy guy?”
