Juanita Broaddrick, who claims sexual assault at the hands of former US President Bill Clinton, has announced an upcoming tell-all book which aims to set the record straight on her alleged rape by the ex-Arkansas governor.
The former nursing home administrator is releasing a non-fiction book entitled, “You’d Better Put Some Ice On That: How I Survived Being Raped By Bill Clinton,” in which she and co-author Nick Lulli expound on the sexual encounter she says took place inside her room at the Camelot Hotel in Little Rock.
The startling allegations were first documented in a 1999 Dateline NBC network television interview, in which she claimed the charismatic Clinton raped her during his 1978 gubernatorial campaign.
According to Broaddrick, she refused advances from Clinton, who proceeded to bite her lip as he forced himself upon her.
“All of a sudden he turned me around and started kissing me and that was a real shock,” Broaddrick detailed at the time.
“[I] at first pushed him away. I just told him, ‘No. Please don’t do that.’
“He was making statements that would relate to ‘Well, did you not know why I was coming up here?’ and I told him at the time, I said, ‘I’m married and I have other things going on in my life and this is something that I’m not interested in.’”
“Then he tries to kiss me again and the second time he starts to kiss me he starts biting on my lip,” Broaddrick recalled, breaking into tears.
“He starts to bite on my top lip as I try to pull away from him and then he forces me down on the bed, and this was very [frightening] and I tried to get away from him and I told him, ‘No,’ that I didn’t want this to happen. But he wouldn’t listen to me.”
“I told him, ‘Please don’t,’” Broaddrick continued. “He was such a different person at that moment. He was just a vicious awful person.”
Broaddrick also recalled Clinton’s words to her in the aftermath, which later gave her the idea for the title of her book.
“When everything was over with he got up and straightened himself, and I was crying a moment and he walks to the door and calmly puts on his sunglasses and before he goes out the door he says, ‘You better get some ice on that,’ and he turns and went out the door,” Broaddrick told Dateline, referring to her bitten lip.
Broaddrick claims Bill’s wife, two-time failed Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, threatened her in the days that followed, and Bill denied the allegations through his lawyer.
In 2016, then-Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump again shined a spotlight on Broaddrick’s controversy, inviting her and three other female Clinton victims to a press conference, and then to a presidential debate between himself and Hillary Clinton.
“Mr. Trump may have said some bad words, but Bill Clinton raped me and Hillary Clinton threatened me. I don’t think there’s any comparison,” Broaddrick stated at the time.
The alleged rape incident has received renewed scrutiny in light of sexual assault allegations lodged at various high-profile entertainment, political and media figures.
In recent weeks several mainstream liberal publications have written articles in support of Broaddrick’s claims, rehashing the accusations and holding Bill Clinton responsible for his alleged heinous behavior.
Broaddrick’s book will be released on January 3, 2018.
