A government contract reveals that First Lady Michelle Obama’s visit to a Buddhist temple in Kyoto, Japan cost the American taxpayer nearly $80,000.

$78,741 was spent for rental cars for a trip to Kiyomizu-Dera Buddhist Temple and the Fushimi Inari Shinto Shrine on March 20.

Obama’s trip is part of a promotional effort to push “Let Girls Learn,” an initiative by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the same agency responsible, in coordination with the National Endowment for Democracy, for “color revolutions” in Georgia, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, stirring up trouble in Venezuela and, more recently, attempting to infiltrate Cuba’s underground hip-hip movement.

The Obama administration is notorious for spending millions of dollars on lavish vacations.

Fir instance, during the 2014 Christmas holiday, the Obamas cost taxpayers $3,672,798 in flight expenses alone according to records provided by the U.S. Department of the Air Force.

In August of 2014, transportation for a family vacation to Martha’s Vineyard cost taxpayers $400,666.30.

“The first family, Michelle Obama fresh from her annual Aspen ski vacation with her daughters, and President Obama back from a weekend of golf in sunny Palm Springs, Calif., have spent tens of millions in tax dollars to vacation, and they still have two more years to go, according to an accounting of their trips,” Paul Bedard wrote on March 7.

“As the first lady readies for a trip to Japan and Cambodia this month, Secrets calculated that the first family has racked up 38 holidays, working vacations, and fun trips like a date night in New York. They are on par to take at least 45 holidays before leaving office.”
