nullMoments before Ron Paul was announced as the winner of the CPAC Presidential “straw poll,” Young Americans for Freedom leadership handed out press releases announcing Rep. Ron Paul had been removed from his 20 year position on the YAF advisory board.

The press release described Paul as “off his meds” and as having become delusional and having aligned himself with the “fringe anti war left.” “It is a sad day in American history when a one-time conservative-libertarian stalwart has fallen more out of touch with America’s needs for national security than the current feeble and appeasing administration,” said YAF’s Senior National Director Jordan Marks.

The press release complained that “American foreign policy must be judged by this criterion: does it serve the just interests of the United States?” What would be the “just interest of the U.S.?”

Watch the confrontation:

Wouldn’t the just interest of the United States be to honor our founding documents and the Constitution which clearly limit the U.S. Government from violating the natural rights of mankind, not just American citizens as many neoconservatives preach? The Bill of Rights does not bestow rights on American Citizens; it is a limitation on the government for how it may interact with human beings.

Immediately following the conclusion of the CPAC conference, as attendees streamed into the lobby of the Park Wardman Marriot Hotel, YAF members passed out flyers depicting Rep. Paul as the Joker of Batman. Truth Squad.TV Editor Danny Panzella confronted YAFF Exec Editor Christopher Bedford who complained that Ron Paul supporters heckled American hero Dick Cheney, calling him a war criminal during his presentation of the Defender of the Constitution award to Donald Rumsfeld.

YAF has adopted the neo-conservative collectivist foreign policy philosophy of violating rights to bring republican democracy to the Middle East. Apparently it was necessary for the Bush administration to violate the inalienable right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness of 1 million + Iraqis to free them from tyranny.

Bedford is the Executive Editor of the Young Americans for Freedom Foundation’s “The New Guard” magazine. It is no surprise that he is critical of Paul’s foreign policy stance, as Bedford also reports for the hawkish Homeland Security Today magazine.

Bedford claiming to be a Constitutionalist when confronted about the unconstitutionality of the Iraq and Afghani wars reluctantly admitted they were not declared wars in contradiction to his early assertion that Dick Cheney is a hero. Bedford quickly ended the conversation and fled the lobby. He returned briefly later to yell “Remember Daniel Pearl!” as he scurried by. As if to approve of violating the Constitution and principles of Liberty as long as it is for the war on terror. It was Benjamin Franklin who said “He who would trade essential liberty for temporary security deserves neither.”
