The White House on Monday focused new pressure on rural Republicans in the House to pass an immigration reform measure.
It released a report estimating billions of dollars in increased agricultural production and tens of thousands of new rural jobs if the Senate comprehensive approach were to be adopted.
The Senate bill expands visas for temporary agriculture workers and creates a controversial pathway to citizenship for current illegal immigrants that conservatives say is an amnesty program for criminals.
