With millions set to lose their current health care plans, Americans are reacting with disbelief and fury to a White House campaign claiming that Obamacare guarantees that no insurer will ever be able to drop customers.
The White House posted the following tweet earlier today:
Thanks to #Obamacare, insurers CAN'T: 1. Deny you coverage. 2. Drop you if you get sick. 3. Drop you as a customer. pic.twitter.com/t4KL1i0sds

Many have responded on Twitter, calling it bizarre propaganda, in the face of continuing stories emerging of Americans being dropped from their current plans and seeing their rates sky rocket.
The @WhiteHouse stream of spin is becoming downright bizarre. Everyone knows it isn't working. Instead of fixing, just deny. #tactic

.@WhiteHouse Nice try, assholes. Still got dropped.

@WhiteHouse that probably makes 6 people very happy.
— rick kronsperger (@rick_buffett) November 1, 2013
@WhiteHouse 4. Afford to keep your current plan.
— Brett McDonald (@mrbrettmcdonald) November 1, 2013
@WhiteHouse @NECN then why are people losing coverage now?
— ed moore (@cannoneerfour) November 1, 2013
@WhiteHouse Thanks to #ObamaCare the American people can't keep the plans that they already like. @dbongino can't even keep his plan.
— Cory Forsyth (@cforsyth13) November 1, 2013
@WhiteHouse #Obamacare You mean all those 100s of 1000s that have lost their coverage due to #Obamacare?
— The Big Dipper (@star8a8y) November 1, 2013
@WhiteHouse they can however cancel your current policy or up your rates, it seems!
— Paul Speidel (@wizardofos) November 1, 2013
@WhiteHouse ask the ones that were dropped recently how that's workkng for them

Yet another high profile story emerged today detailing the fact that around 100,000 New Yorkers are to see their current health care plans crumble into dust because of the Obamacare rollout.
“Approximately 100,000 individuals will be required to change insurance because current plans are not compliant with ACA [Affordable Care Act],” said New York state Health Department spokesman Bill Schwarz.
“But the figure is actually much higher because it doesn’t take into account hundreds of thousands covered under small business group policies that are being scrapped or rewritten to conform to the requirements of the Affordable Care Act.” reports the New York Post.
The article details how in New Jersey, approximately 800,000 residents will be affected by the change in the law. In the wake of massive levels of complaints, officials stated that they have “no control over these [federal] regulations.”
@WhiteHouse It can also drop you from your current health plan. Way to go…

@WhiteHouse just drop you for chnages, raise your rates and make you unable to afford it. GJ there Mr. President.

At the beginning of the week, NBC News reported that the rollout of Obamacare will see 50 to 75 percent of all individual Americans with private health insurance forced to give up those policies – that equates to between 7 and 10.5 million people.
Forbes then reported that when you take into account the market for employer-sponsored health insurance, as well as “nongroup and other” forms of insurance, some 93 MILLION Americans could see their policies cancelled under Obamacare.
It was also revealed that Obama officials knew this would be the case in 2010. Despite that fact that President Obama promised in 2012, “If [you] already have health insurance, you will keep your health insurance.”
Pure unmitigated BULLSHIT.
@WhiteHouse lies lies lies to force the insurance companies to have to drop. This was the plan from the start. Lies lies lies
— Robert (@RobertReynoso) November 1, 2013
Pft… @WhiteHouse Promises, promises… oh yea, I forgot your trust is BROKEN.
— I R FingerMonster (@AirJunkie) November 1, 2013
@WhiteHouse What's next? "No employer will ever be able to fire you. Those days are over."
— JamesHXN (@JamesHXN) November 1, 2013
@WhiteHouse and just how many recieved cancellation notices due to obamacare? Another lie in a long list of lies from the coward ib chief
— Tom Shupe (@TommyBoy39) November 1, 2013
.@WhiteHouse Doubling down on the big lie, I see. I guess you didn't see CNN this morning.

In addition, CNN reported that “Senate Democrats voted unanimously three years ago to support the Obamacare rule that is largely responsible for some of the health insurance cancellation letters that are going out.” The report also details how some Republicans tried to prevent this exact scenario by introducing an amendment in 2010 which was ultimately blocked by the Democratic leadership.
Senate Dems knew millions would receive cancellation notices, because they voted for it http://t.co/9o6Q7pclEb

The current spin being pushed by Obama officials and the media is that the cancellations are A GOOD THING, and that Obamacare is doing a lot of Americans a favour by canceling their current plans.
The endless amounts of Americans reporting and facing untold rises in premiums will, no doubt, disagree.
@WhiteHouse Thanks to #obamacare the insurance companies can sure jack our rates! So stop patting your own backs.
— Chris Williamson (@ChrisBWilli) November 1, 2013
@WhiteHouse and here come the days of paying a higher premium so everyone can be covered. Gee thanks #obamacare !!
— D (@dhedy_0) November 1, 2013
@WhiteHouse And if you can't keep your plan, as promised, just shop around, you'll see it'll just cost you double is all.
— xandermac (@xandermac) November 1, 2013
@WhiteHouse Great! They can't deny me an extremely expensive policy, thanks to Obamacare.
— JamesHXN (@JamesHXN) November 1, 2013
@WhiteHouse Their premiums have gone up. So the # of uninsured people will rise because of Obamacare, and the # of options had dwindled.
