GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump doubled down on calls for President Obama to resign Monday following the commander in chief’s refusal to utter the words “radical Islamic terror.”

In an appearance on Fox & Friends this morning, the likely Republican nominee elaborated on a tweet he sent yesterday which asked, “Is President Obama going to finally mention the words radical Islamic terrorism? If he doesn’t he should immediately resign in disgrace.”

Pressed for details on the tweet, Trump said Obama was either incompetent, really smart or hiding something.

“Look, we’re led by a man that either is not tough, not smart, or he’s got something else in mind,” Trump said. “And the something else in mind — you know, people can’t believe it. People cannot, they cannot believe that President Obama is acting the way he acts and can’t even mention the words ‘radical Islamic terrorism.’ There’s something going on. It’s inconceivable. There’s something going on.”

On Sunday, Obama made a statement which referred to the Orlando Pulse nightclub shooting as “terror” and a “hate crime,” but failed to highlight the growing problem with radical Islam. The president today also referred to the shooting as “an example of homegrown extremism that all of us have been so concerned about,” according to the Wall Street Journal.

“He doesn’t get it, or he gets it better than anybody understands,” Trump told Fox & Friends.

“It’s one or the other,” he maintained. “And either one is unacceptable, No. 1, and No. 2, calling on another gun ban, I mean, this man has no clue. First of all, the shooter was licensed. So he went through all the procedures, he was fully licensed to have a gun. So he would have passed the test that the president would have thrown up there.”

“We’re led by a fool,” Trump declared.

“It’s so ridiculous,” he continued. “You know, this is a, this is a mentality, this is a state. And you have thousands of shooters like this with the same mentality out there in this country, and we’re bringing thousands and thousands of them back into this country, and into the country every year.”

In another Monday appearance on the Today show, Trump told Savannah Guthrie he believed the president was likely incompetent.

“Well there are a lot of people that think maybe he doesn’t want to get it,” Trump said. “A lot of people think maybe he doesn’t want to know about it. I happen to think that he just doesn’t know what he’s doing, but there are many people that think maybe he doesn’t want to get it. He doesn’t want to see what’s really happening. And that could be.”

“Savannah, why isn’t he addressing the issue?” Trump asked. “He’s not addressing the issue. He’s not calling it what it is. This is radical Islamic terrorism. This isn’t fighting Germany; this isn’t fighting Japan, where they wear uniforms.”

The hotel mogul additionally told Fox he would reschedule a speech he intended to make targeting Hillary Clinton originally set for Monday, adding the likely Democrat nominee also wouldn’t mention “radical Islam” for fear of reprisal from her bosses.

“She won’t mention it because she’s afraid to mention it because her boss would be angry at her and her boss has tremendous power over her and you know why that is.”

Last December, Trump issued a call for a “total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country’s representatives can figure out what is going on.”

“Until we are able to determine and understand this problem and the dangerous threat it poses, our country cannot be the victims of horrendous attacks by people that believe only in Jihad, and have no sense of reason or respect for human life,” the Trump campaign announced in a statement one month after the terror attacks at the Bataclan theater in Paris.
