Journalist Garrison Keillor, who wrote in a Washington Post article yesterday that calls for Al Franken to resign over his sexual assault scandal were “absurd,” was fired the very next day for his own “improper behavior”.
Life comes at you fast.
Keillor, who hosted the popular radio show A Prairie Home Companion, was dismissed by Minnesota Public Radio over “allegations of improper behavior” earlier today.
Just yesterday he wrote a Washington Post article entitled Al Franken should resign? That’s absurd.
In the op-ed, Keillor downplays Franken’s infamous groping of Leeann Tweeden, while ignoring multiple other reports of Franken’s predatory behavior towards women.
“On the flight home, in a spirit of low comedy, Al ogled Miss Tweeden and pretended to grab her and a picture was taken. Eleven years later, a talk show host in LA, she goes public, and there is talk of resignation. This is pure absurdity, and the atrocity it leads to is a code of public deadliness. No kidding,” wrote Keillor.
Although the nature of Keillor’s “improper behavior” is yet to be revealed, it is widely expected to relate to sexual harassment.
The radio host was almost certainly fired for alleged sexual abuse less than 24 hours after publishing an article in which he defended Al Franken for engaging in sexual abuse.
Oh the irony.
On the same day that NBC’s Matt Lauer was was dismissed, Keillor becomes the latest in an ever growing list of left-wing journalists and politicians, many of whom relentlessly virtue signaled about how much they respected women, who have been fired for allegations that they sexually assaulted women.
