The US has placed nine individuals and one supermarket in Yemen’s Hadramawt province on its sanctions list over alleged ties to Al-Qaeda and Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) terrorists.

The move was coordinated with Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain and Qatar, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said, announcing the sanctions during a meeting in Riyadh.
