UK Soldier Dies from Gunshot Wound in Afghanistan

A soldier from 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards serving in Afghanistan has died from a gunshot wound, the Ministry of Defence says.

The soldier was on patrol as part of Combined Force Nahr-e-Saraj (North) when he was killed.

His family has been notified. Further details will be released at the weekend.
