Theresa May’s Government has conceded to France that UK vessels will no longer fish in Frech waters abiding by a French law prohibiting scallop fishing in the Bay of Seine during certain months of the year.

Both Government’s released a joint statement saying talks were “constructive.”

However, a final deal has not been reached and hinges on a “reasonable compensation package” for small UK boats which are set to lose out.
