President-elect Donald Trump labeled cable network CNN “fake news” Saturday for its continued inaccurate coverage of his future role with NBC’s The Apprentice.

Trump chastised the network in an early morning tweet saying reports he will be “working on The Apprentice” during his presidency are “ridiculous & untrue.”

Trump clarified his role with the NBC show in another tweet:

This marks the first time the president-elect has used the term “fake news” on Twitter, a label the establishment media has been using to try to delegitimize independent news sources conveying alternative information.

Trump savaged corporate media giants face-to-face at a meeting in Trump Tower last month, where several network CEOs and prominent talking heads were told they were a pack of liars.

“Trump kept saying, ‘We’re in a room of liars, the deceitful dishonest media who got it all wrong,'” a source told the New York Post, adding that CNN was singled out specifically.

“He addressed everyone in the room calling the media dishonest, deceitful liars. He called out Jeff Zucker by name and said everyone at CNN was a liar, and CNN was [a] network of liars.”
