President Trump says the fake news media wants to silence him on Twitter in order to have full control of the narrative.
In a Saturday evening tweet, Trump defended his use of social media and seemingly responded to a Wall Street Journal article which claimed he was considering hiring a legal team to monitor his tweets.
The Fake News Media works hard at disparaging & demeaning my use of social media because they don't want America to hear the real story!

“The Fake News Media works hard at disparaging & demeaning my use of social media because they don’t want America to hear the real story!” Trump said.
Upon returning from the G7 conference in Italy, the president lashed out at “enemy” fake news media outlets early Saturday morning for attempting to derail his administration with leaks from anonymous sources.
Trump made it clear he believed unnamed sources used by many publications could indeed be “fabricated” in order to damage his presidency.
It is my opinion that many of the leaks coming out of the White House are fabricated lies made up by the #FakeNews media.

Whenever you see the words 'sources say' in the fake news media, and they don't mention names….
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 28, 2017
….it is very possible that those sources don't exist but are made up by fake news writers. #FakeNews is the enemy!

Some of the president’s latest controversial tweets include accusing former President Obama of “wiretapping” Trump Tower, and hinting he may have tapes of conversations with former FBI Director James Comey.
Trump has previously credited Twitter with allowing him to bypass information gatekeepers, saying it “does allow me to go around dishonest media.”
“Most of the people that want me to stop it are the enemies, I’ll be honest with you,” Trump told Fox & Friends in February. “If I felt the media were honest, all of it, or most of it, I wouldn’t do it. But it is a modern day form of communication.”
