When it comes to population control, 1973 signified “change” that bankers could believe in– a one-child policy in China to cull the ‘excess’ population, and make certain that all activities, including human reproduction, could be closely controlled by the centralized government and adjusted to meet United Nations-imposed population reduction targets.
For David Rockefeller, whose family funded most of population & eugenics programs throughout the 20th Century, the control imposed by China was the best yet. He wrote:
“Whatever the price of the Chinese Revolution it has obviously succeeded… in fostering high morale and community purpose. General social and economic progress is no less impressive….The enormous social advances of China have benefited greatly form the singleness of ideology and purpose…. The social experiment in China under Chairman Mao’s leadership is one of the most important and successful in history.”
New York Times, 8-10-1973.
The price of such harsh population reduction targets has been part & parcel in tens of millions of deaths, human rights abuses, police brutality, the death of female babies (as parents wish for their only child to be a male) and other atrocities against the individual & the family by authoritarian government.
