A deadline for resolving a decades-long maritime border dispute between Slovenia and Croatia is set to run out at midnight on Friday, with the two neighbors on a collision course as neither is willing to budge.

Hours before the deadline, Slovenia again urged Croatia to begin negotiating the implementation of the ruling that Zagreb, however, continues to ignore.

In a formal diplomatic note, Slovenia also said that it intends to begin implementing the ruling on Saturday and has enacted a set of laws to move forward on that decision.
