COMMENT: Reports indicate that former Fugees singer and attempted-candidate for President in Haiti received a superficial injury during a visit to support musician candidate Michel Martelly. There is no word yet indicating if the shot or shots were fired with a political motive. His attempt at political life in Haiti was controversially ended when it was ruled he didn’t meet Constitutional mandates for residency. The singer is a native Haitian but has lived in the United States for some time.

Wyclef Jean has been released from hospital after suffering a gunshot wound in Haiti.
The former Fugees man was shot in the hand late last night (March 19) in the city of Delmas, reports Billboard.
No further details of the shooting, which came just before the general election was due to take place in the country, have been made public yet. Jean, who had attempted to register to run for President himself there, was in Haiti to support musician candidate Michel Martelly.
