Russia has fired two intercontinental ballistic missiles from a submarine within one week.
A liquid-fueled rocket capable of carrying nuclear warheads was fired from Russia’s submarine Tula on Wednesday, Radio Free Europe / Radio Liberty reported. The Sineva missile has a range of over 7,400 miles and was fired from the Kamchatka region on the Pacific Ocean, the paper added.
Russia plans to significantly improve its naval readiness over the next six years. In August, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said the plan came in response to friction with NATO.
