President Trump hailed the hero in Texas who used his own firearm to end the church massacre.
Commenting to reporters Monday from Japan regarding the worst mass shooting in Texas history, the president condemned the atrocious act pointing to the shooter’s poor mental health as a primary cause for the attack.

“Fortunately, somebody else had a gun that was shooting in the opposite direction,” the President expressed. “Otherwise… it would’ve been much worse.”
On Sunday a shooting unfolded at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas, just southeast of San Antonio, which left 26 dead and 20 injured.
The shooter, identified as 26-year-old dishonorably discharged Air Force veteran Devin Kelley – an atheist – wore black tactical gear and fired off numerous rounds as he waged his assault on the congregation.
As noted by the president, one churchgoer – 55-year-old Stephen Willeford – confronted Kelley with his own weapon forcing him to leave the church, where another citizen, Johnnie Langendorff, helped chase after the shooter.
President Trump also emphasized he believed Kelley was “a very deranged individual” and that the nation needs to address mental health issues.
“We have a lot of mental health problems in our country, but this isn’t a guns situation,” said Trump. “I mean, we could go into it, but it’s a little bit soon to go into it.”
President Trump’s remarks comes as many politicians along with the liberal media issue renewed calls for gun control, blaming the shooter’s weapon for the tragedy.
Can you sleep tonight, colleagues, when the price of gun lobby goodwill is this – blood soaked church and school floors, city streets?

Police believe the shooter’s motive stemmed from family problems and a “domestic situation.”
