I don’t know what planet former senator Phil Gramm lives on, but the one where the rest of us reside is not only in a recession but is working determinedly toward a full-blown depression.
“In an interview with the Washington Times, Phil Gramm, a former Texas senator who is now vice chairman of UBS, the giant Swiss bank, said he expects Mr. McCain to inherit a sluggish economy if he wins the presidency, weighed down above all by the conviction of many Americans that economic conditions are the worst in two or three decades and that America is in decline,” reports the Washington Times.
“You’ve heard of mental depression; this is a mental recession,” he said, noting that growth has held up at about 1 percent despite all the publicity over losing jobs to India, China, illegal immigration, housing and credit problems and record oil prices. “We may have a recession; we haven’t had one yet.”
“We have sort of become a nation of whiners,” he said. “You just hear this constant whining, complaining about a loss of competitiveness, America in decline” despite a major export boom that is the primary reason that growth continues in the economy, he said.
“We’ve never been more dominant; we’ve never had more natural advantages than we have today,” he said. “We have benefited greatly” from the globalization of the economy in the last 30 years.
In other words, if McCain wins the election come November, you can expect no help from the government – in fact you can expect the government to continue its economic lie fest. Can’t afford to fill up your gas tank and drive 70 miles to work? Can’t afford that adjustable rate mortgage payment? Lost your job because the multinational corporation you work for packed up and sent operations to China?
Shut up and sit down. Phil and John think you’re a whiner.
“Mr. McCain would tackle intransigent budget deficits by wrestling down burgeoning benefits programs and aggressively attacking wasteful spending whether it’s in the Pentagon’s procurement and weapons budget or congressional pork-barrel bills, he said.”

Cut back on the Pentagon’s weapons budget? Sure, and I have a bridge for sale. Of course, the government will cut back on social programs. “Mr. Gramm said a bipartisan deal might include raising the retirement age to 70 over 30 years, indexing the benefits of wealthier retirees to inflation rather than the more generous wage rate, and creating a private account program for younger workers.”
It never ends. Of course, like Social Security, government bandits will raid any “private account program for younger workers.” It’s all about tricking you, stealing your money, and then cutting you loose to die alone and neglected like a rodent.
McCain and Gramm are part of the scam. So is Mr. Change, Barack Obama.
If you vote for either of them, you are signing off on your own enslavement and misery. Because the globalists who run McCain and Obama are determined to convert the planet into a slave labor gulag based on the China model. In fact, that’s what Gramm’s comment about globalization was all about – turning the world into a slave plantation run by multinational corporations.
Now sit down, shut up, and stop whining.
