Exploits attack to increase pressure on Assad

Completely failing to condemn a suicide bombing which killed several senior Syrian officials in Damascus today, the Obama White House instead lauded the attack as a sign that the “window is closing” on Bashar Assad’s regime.

While the likes of Obama and Hillary Clinton have been quick to denounce claims of violence carried out by Assad’s forces with vitriolic gusto and emotive humanitarian condemnation, today’s deadly bombing was met with thinly veiled glee.

According to a Reuters update, the “White House says violence is not the answer in Syria but attack on Assad’s inner circle shows “window is closing.” White House says international community needs to act in a unified way.”

In other words, while claiming violence is not the answer, the Obama administration simultaneously upholds the suicide bombing carried out by terrorists as a rhetorical threat against the Assad regime.

U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and British Defense Minister Philip Hammond also refused to condemn the attack, instead using it as a tool to exert “maximum pressure” on Assad to step down.

Confused? Let me explain.

This is good terrorism. When the terrorists are on the same side as the United States and NATO – as Hillary herself has admitted – acts of terrorism in pursuit of NATO’s geopolitical agenda to overthrow Syria do not require condemnation.

Indeed, whenever rebels and NATO-backed Al-Qaeda terrorists carry out another act of bloodshed in Syria, top NATO and U.S. officials find it hard to contain their joy.

Following a bombing attack back in May that killed members of Syria’s security forces, US Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice reacted not by denouncing such tactics, but by openly exploiting the bombing to politically threaten Assad.

In a series of messages, Rice cited the bombing as a reminder that Assad should make way for NATO’s neo-colonialism, tweeting, “The longer Assad clings to power, the greater the risk of destabilization in Syria and throughout the region.”

“Bombings also remind us of the urgent need for a political solution in Syria before it is too late,” she added.

Let’s also not forget Hillary Clinton’s applause, snickering and shameless glee at learning the news of Colonel Gaddafi’s execution by Libyan rebels last year.

In not only failing to condemn the bombings and the terrorists behind them, but actually lauding such attacks as being emblematic of the west’s geopolitical agenda in the region, the political leadership of the United States and NATO reveal themselves to be rhetorical terrorists, as well as cheerleaders for some of the very same terrorists who have killed U.S. and British troops.
