Ahead of Obama’s dog and pony at the Democrat National Convention, the White House sent out a tweet to make the case for a third Obama term under Hillary:

Jobs Created

It’s true, millions of new jobs were created. In January, CNBC reported:

Total employment in the U.S. rose by 2.45 million, marking the third straight year with more than 2 million jobs gained, according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The year ended on a high note, adding 292,000 jobs in December, easily beating consensus estimates.

The last time the U.S. economy added more than 2 million jobs three years in a row was between 1997 and 1999.

However, many jobs created in 2015 in the U.S. came from low-paying sectors, particularly retail, professional services and food services.

In fact, 1.16 million — or 47.2 percent — of the jobs added by the U.S. economy came from those three sectors, leading to wages rising at a slow pace. Hourly wages climbed 1.94 percent in 2015 and have not risen by 2 percent or more since 2012, BLS data show.

Also weighing on wage growth is stalling jobs expansion within manufacturing, once considered one of the hallmarks of the U.S. economy.

Unemployment Rate

The feds love to play games with this one. Everybody knows the official figure is way off the mark—in fact, astronomically off the mark.

John Williams’ Shadow Government Statistics includes “long-term discouraged workers, who were defined out of official existence in 1994,” workers not included when the Bureau of Labor Statistics reports the unemployment rate.

When all unemployed workers were figured into the stats, the unemployment rate stood at 22.9% in June.

In 1933, during the Great Depression, the unemployment rate was 25%.

Deficit

Obama used a narrow margin when he said the deficit has fallen.

“To back up his claim, Obama is comparing his first budget year in office—2009—to 2014,” notes Politifact. In 2008, the deficit was $458 billion, or 3.1 percent of GDP, an increase resulting from the so-called stimulus program following the bankster created subprime mortgage crisis.

And there’s another issue. Princeton University economics professor Harvey Rosen said the more important question is if Obama has put the government on a path that will keep deficits stable. “And the answer is no,” Rosen said, because entitlement programs, such as Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security, have not had substantial reform.

“Simply citing the 66 percent fall in deficits over the past five years without context is misleading, since it follows an almost 800 percent increase that brought deficits to record-high levels,” the Committee for a Responsible Budget reports.

Plus, Obama failed to factor in the debt. “Even as deficits have fallen, debt has continued to rise, more than doubling as a percent of GDP since 2007 to record levels not seen other than during a brief period around World War II.”

“Unfortunately, the recent fall in deficits is not a sign of fiscal sustainability.”

Obama will be well into his government financed retirement by the time trillion-dollar deficits return in 2025.

Uninsured Rate

This claim is sort of like a Mafia protection racket bragging there are fewer arsons reported by businesses forced to pay a monthly ransom.

It stands to reason there are fewer uninsured Americans. After all, the government, like the Mafia, is forcing them at gunpoint to buy overpriced and monopolized health insurance or face the wrath of the Internal Revenue Service.

Troops in Iraq and Afghanistan

The issue here is not the number of troops, but rather that there are troops at all still in those countries invaded without formal and constitutional declarations of war.

Earlier this month, Obama said he planned to keep the US military in Afghanistan despite his campaign promise to end the war and bring home the troops. Defense boss Ash Carter said on July 7 the Pentagon’s “newly adjusted mission” would be open-ended and the number of troops committed unclear.

Ditto Iraq. “Unless you have a loved one in the U.S. military, you probably haven’t been aware of the slow-but-steady increase in American troops on the ground inside Iraq” since Obama told Congress in 2014 he was sending more troops.

“Having already burst through the [troop reduction] cap negotiated with Iraq, the Pentagon continues to push for additional troops all the time, and with officials openly talking about a long, long war against ISIS, the likelihood is that US boots will be on Iraqi soil for decades more,” writes Jason Ditz.

States with marriage equality

This one is pure Democrat doublespeak. What Obama means to say is “states forced by the federal government to allow homosexuals to marry.”

Regardless of what you think about same-sex marriage, Obama is trampling on states’ rights. Liberals argue that the Supremacy Clause (Article VI, Section 2) of the Constitution allows the federal government to dictate on marriage. Left out of the discussion is the Tenth Amendment, which states: “The powers not delegated to the United States [federal government] by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”

Because nothing in the Constitution “delegates power over marriage to the federal government, and nothing in the Constitution prohibits the states from exercising this power, therefore, according to the Tenth Amendment, that power is reserved to the states or to the people, and that is the supreme law of the land,” summarizes John Eidsmoe, Senior Counsel for the Foundation for Moral Law.

Obama’s “equality” claim is a mandate for federal authority over the states in violation of the Constitution. The final brag of his tweet is a smug declaration that the Constitution is meaningless and the federal government has come a long way over the past 7.5 years in destroying the liberty of the American people.
