A New York Republican was sworn in Thursday to a second term as Nassau County executive using an iPad instead of a bible.

According to Long Island Newsday, Edward Mangano began his second term by taking the oath of office with his hand resting on the electronic device when a printed copy of the Bible could not be found readily. The iPad screen, however, did display the Bible as Mangano repeated the oath.

Mangano, who defeated Democratic challenger Tom Suozzi in November, was sworn in at Bethpage High School on Long Island where he graduated in 1980.
