A listener of an NPR radio program called out the program’s guests live on air for using propaganda techniques to oversimplify the current immigration crisis after one guest broadly described illegal aliens as “war refugees.”
On a recent broadcast of NPR’s “On Point,” show host Tom Ashbrook was joined by immigration activists who suggested that all the youth immigrants illegally entering the U.S. in record numbers are desperate refugees who need the full support of the government.
The guests even provided NPR a list of immigration organizations for listeners to contact and support.
But one radio listener saw right through the propaganda and called into the show.
“With respect to your guests, I would like to just make a comment that when I hear phrases like ‘They’re clutching their teddy bears,’ ‘They’re wetting their pants in front of judges,’ there’s an approach here where we’re being told that all 40,000 of these minor immigrants that have come here since October are all the same,” he said. “This is a technique that is used to stir passion.”
“These kinds of comments raise red flags to me and I just don’t believe that we should, without question, accept 40,000 under-18 immigrants who are breaking the law. Their parents broke the law and they may even be coming here because they have been paid by drug gangs to engage in the drug business in America.”
“I think that it’s unfortunate that we have no one to challenge your guests [because] the image they are portraying are five-year-olds in front of judges,” the caller added. “I don’t think that’s right and it’s very suspicious.”
In response, one of the show’s guests suggested that the caller was wrong because Homeland Security Deputy Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has said otherwise.
“[Mayorkas] is out trying to figure out what’s pushing [the illegal immigration] and he concurred with most of us that it is an extraordinary kind of violence that would move a parent to put their child through Mexico into the United States,” he said, practically acting as a spokesman for DHS.
While the insane violence in Central America, which the CIA has exacerbated for decades, is one of the primary reasons why people are fleeing their home countries, it doesn’t fully explain why youth immigration to the U.S. alone has increased over 1300% in the past three years, from 6,500 in 2011 to around 90,000 this year, and may more than double in 2015.
That can be explained by the Obama administration’s selective enforcement of immigration laws and executive actions, both of which have fueled rumors across Central America that the United States will grant amnesty to illegal immigrants.
“Newspapers in El Salvador and Honduras are promoting policies by the Obama administration that defer deportation to minors brought to the United States as children by their parents — known as ‘Dreamers’ — and those that are housing illegal children at military bases in the South and West,” reports Newsmax.
Infowars recently visited one of these immigration shelters at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, where the Health Department is taking care of nearly 2,000 immigrant youth.
And there’s no doubt that the White House will use these children, all of whom endangered their lives to reach the U.S., as political pawns in its ongoing battle with Congress to enact amnesty in law.
Even the National Association of Former Border Patrol Officers stated that the current immigration crisis was worsened by the White House.
“It is a predictable, orchestrated and contrived assault on the compassionate side of Americans by her political leaders that knowingly puts minor illegal alien children at risk for purely political purposes,” said a statement released by the association.
