Earlier today, Mika Brzezinski introduced former CIA boss and secretary of defense Robert Gates and said he is a “smart person” like her father (former national security advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski). Mika asked Gates about Donald Trump’s tweet on EgyptAir Flight MS804 (Miki added as an aside that it is “silly” for serious people to talk about tweets). Gates had a few sharp words for the presumptive, who he dismissed as irresponsible:
Looks like yet another terrorist attack. Airplane departed from Paris. When will we get tough, smart and vigilant? Great hate and sickness!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 19, 2016
The New York Times also weighed in, ever ready to zing the candidate who is widely hated and feared by the establishment.
The first American presidential candidate to comment on the EgyptAir crash on Thursday was Donald J. Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee.
The authorities involved in the search for the missing plane have not confirmed what brought the plane down, and they have pleaded for the public’s patience as they investigate.
Mr. Trump, without citing any evidence, suggested that the crash was caused by terrorism.
As Infowars reported earlier, numerous people prior to Trump have said the crash appears to be the work of terrorists—from Alexander Bortnikov, the director of Russian Federal Security Service, to Egypt’s aviation minister and several aeronautics experts. Brzezinski and MSNBC did not mention those previous remarks and instead capitalized on the opportunity to make Trump look impulsive and irresponsible.
Robert Gates should know a thing or two about terrorism and how it operates.
In his memoir, Gates admitted American intelligence services began to aid the Mujahadeen in Afghanistan 6 months before the Soviet intervention. Zbigniew Brzezinski, Mika’s dad and Jimmy Carter’s national security advisor at the time, told the French newspaper Le Nouvel Observateur in 1998 it was all true—that creating the Mujahadeen that would later morph into al-Qaeda and the Taliban was an “excellent idea” and he had no regrets, never mind the 400,000 who died as a result.
Finally, the Trump tweet was attacked by Jason Easley, a lefty over at PoliticusUSA. “Without a shred of evidence, presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump is blaming President Obama for the Egyptair crash that killed 66 people over the Mediterranean,” writes Easley.
Trump did not mention Obama in his tweet, but that does not matter. It is now open season on Trump as the establishment pulls out all the stops to destroy his presidential campaign.
It’s not working, though. Every time the corporate media and liberals attack Trump, his ratings increase.
