It is becoming routine — the military engaging in “operations” and “training exercises” during public events. It is all part of a concerted effort to get the public acclimated to armed soldiers in combat gear on the streets.

Earlier this month, Infowars reported on armed soldiers arresting an over-zealous fan at the Kentucky Derby, an incident completely ignored by the corporate media with the exception of a Reuters photograph showing the arrest.

In April, we reported on the presence of National Guard soldiers at the Boston Marathon.

Over the last few months, the military has dispatched soldiers in violation of Posse Comitatus around the country, most notably in Samson, Alabama, on the highways of Tennessee and California, and in Indianapolis. In many cases, the soldiers work closely with the DHS, FBI, and myriad state and federal agencies.

The following is from the Staten Island Real-Time News:

Don’t be alarmed — Staten Island isn’t under attack.

A helicopter carrying visiting U.S. Marines will land in Staten Island’s Clove Lakes Park this afternoon for a simulated raid as part of Fleet Week festivities.

The chopper is expected to touch down at 3 p.m. near the baseball fields. The demonstration will last about two hours.

The event is open to the public.

In recent years, Fleet Week festivities have included mock raids at the public park to give civilians a feel for how soldiers operate in battle.

Note how the “raid” is billed as a “demonstration.” In other words, it has no military training objective other than to get New Yorkers accustomed to armed soldiers landing in public parks.
