The most heartbreaking thing is to view Ukrainian refugees on Russia Today (RT.com), children, parents, men, women, crying, still trying to fathom how and why they lost their homes, loved ones, and future. And in addition to this, have seen the Malaysian Flight MH17 with 298 people on board fall out of the air, apparently over the Ukraine.

I cannot bring myself to believe that Russia or Putin have any responsibility in this cruel act of firing a high-powered missile to bring the Malaysian flight MH17 down. Putin’s involvement from the beginning was only to offer a place of safety for Ukrainian refugees who had lost families, homes, and lives at the hands of right wing, neo-Nazi murderers and thugs. Putin’s invitation to these refugees was to migrate to the east to the Crimea, long a Russian base for its ships, and now a haven from Ukrainian barbarism.

Putin offered fleeing refugees an opportunity to have a vote over this, which was overwhelming agreed to by them. Second, the election results of the voters were nearly unanimous that they live in the Crimea, in safety under the protective wing of Putin and Russia. This was a notable humanitarian act on Putin’s part, which I thoroughly admire, as opposed to the willful misunderstanding of the West and Obama—as an attempt for Putin to make a grab for the Crimea. Sanctions were threatened, then imposed, by the West. Given all this, it is absurd to think that Putin would have instigated or ordered his military to shoot 298 people out of the air and have the world turn against him.

In addition, Putin’s Russia was owed billions of dollars for gas and oil delivered to the Ukraine via Russian pipelines. Putin in this case acted as a benevolent supplier and gave Kiev ample time and terms to pay its debts. Also, Ukrainian air controllers have been said to have been following the Malaysian flight. All this adds up to a kind of a “cold-war” conspiracy against Putin and Russia. The hawks are out.

The only personages I see as pariahs in this awful ongoing tragedy are the Americans—with their autopilot ability to threaten amd impose sanctions and further exacerbate a tragic turn of events. I don’t see Obama lifting his penchant for drone bombing, only increasing it in scope and cruelty and making new enemies for the West. I see Putin, ironically, as a peacemaker in this sick scenario. What’s more, as ever, I see Obama, hypocrite that he is, pontificating about Putin and Russia’s motives regarding the sovereignty of Ukraine’s oblasts. Obama loves to play this game of serious “peacemaker,” murderer that he is. It makes me sick, damn it, and Americans, at least those with any kind of political intelligence, should be shouting, “I’m sick of this, and I don’t want to take it anymore. These fools in the White House are not the good guys. They are the same people who have kept us at war now for thirteen years, with more catastrophes brewing in Israel with its “Iron-Dome” killing and blaming Hamas for it all.
