The “partial” government shutdown that wasn’t a shutdown has paid off in spades for some federal workers.

Fox News reports that government workers in Oregon who were furloughed so Democrats could hysterically grandstand about the dire consequences of a government shutdown will not have to repay the unemployment benefits they received in addition to their salaries.

Congress votes to pay employees for not working, once again demonstrating that working for the state has its advantages.

The bonus was possible thanks to a bill rushed through Congress that pays furloughed employees for the role they played in the shutdown political theater.

The double payment was confirmed by a spokesman for WorkSource Oregon Employment Department. He told Fox News he had no idea how many furloughed workers received money from the state but said they will not have to repay taxpayers.
