We now know voters in our area feel about relaxing Illinois gun laws. Thousands of people voted Tuesday in Pope and Johnson Counties, and about 90-percent of them want concealed carry to become reality.
[efoods]Since November, 16 Illinois counties have overwhelmingly voted in support allowing gun owners to be able to carry a concealed weapon. But the decision hinges on convincing Chicago-area politicians that looser gun laws are the answer.
“We’re in the stone age, thanks to Cook county,” Johnson county voter Dave Johnson said.
Johnson feels the same way many others in his hometown of Vienna do, that their civil liberties are restricted by the fear of Chicago politicians, who in turn fear backlash from their voters.
