Several prominent Democrats have blasted Trump for his tweets calling for tougher immigration measures following the jihadist truck attack in New York City on Tuesday, saying he’s “politicizing” the tragedy.
“The last thing the President or anyone else should do is politicize this tragedy,” New York Mayor Bill de Blasio told CNN Wednesday.
“We have to be smarter and have more intelligence, but there’s also no doubt that this is not the time to play politics. This is not the time to foment hate. This is not the time to divide.”

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo made similar comments, saying he was “bothered” by anybody trying “to politicize this situation.”
“That plays right into the hands of the terrorists,” he added.

Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) also weighed in on Twitter, saying “I guess it’s not too soon to politicize a tragedy.”

The level of hypocrisy displayed by these liberal lawmakers is stunning considering just a month ago these figures were demanding gun control immediately following the deadliest mass shooting in history in Las Vegas last month.

Mayor de Blasio responded to the Las Vegas tragedy by slamming Congress having worked on legislation that would ease certain firearm restrictions.

Here’s Cuomo also calling for gun control the morning after the Vegas massacre.

What makes this even more ridiculous is that the NYC terrorist’s motive was quickly discovered after the incident, as multiple witnesses agreed that he shouted “Allahu akbar” as he was committing the attack, making Trump’s tweets about the matter reasonable and justified.

However, Las Vegas gunman Stephen Paddock’s motive is still unknown to authorities even after a month of investigating, with theories swirling that he could be involved with ISIS or Antifa, or be part of a deeper false flag event.
Even avid gun control advocates like Senator Diane Feinstein (D-Calif.) admitted that no current gun law could have stopped Paddock, as he broke no laws and underwent several background checks, highlighting that the key to stopping tragedies like the Mandalay Bay massacre and NYC terror attack lies in discovering motive and getting ahead of it.
