A project to compile oral histories of those connected to a hijacked plane that crashed into a Pennsylvania field on 9/11 will continue for at least three more years thanks to a $225,000 grant from The Heinz Endowments.
The Pittsburgh-based charity has also helped fund the design and construction of the Flight 93 National Memorial. Passengers fought terrorists for control of the hijacked plane that was targeting Washington, D.C.
The oral history project began in 2005.
