FERGUSON, MO (KTVI) – Saturday afternoon Governor Jay Nixon spoke to the residents of Ferguson and the media at the Greater St. Mark’s Family Church in north St. Louis County.

Governor Nixon ordered an immediate curfew for the city of Ferguson to start Saturday night from Midnight to 5 am. The curfew will be enforced by the Missouri State Highway Patrol who has operational control of security in Ferguson. The governor also issued a state of emergency for Ferguson.

Nixon stated the “Eyes of the world are watching”, as he local officials are working to calm tensions in the community and resolved the crisis in Ferguson since the shooting of Michael Brown one week ago.

Captain Ron Brown of Missouri State Highway Patrol, the commander for security over the protestors and demonstrators said, “The frustration that is in your home is in my home.” He further stated that “We will be in this together”.
