In a tweet subsequently deleted, a former member of the House of Representatives declared war on Black Lives Matter following the shooting of police officers in Dallas.

“3 Dallas Cops killed, 7 wounded. This is now war. Watch out Obama. Watch out black lives matter punks. Real America is coming after you,” wrote Joe Walsh.

After deleting his original message, Walsh urged the “silent majority” to wake up and stand with the police. He also said the original post was not a call for violence against Black Lives Matter.

Walsh came under fire in 2012 after he said radical Islam poses a threat to America.

“One thing I’m sure of is that there are people in this country—there is a radical strain of Islam in this country—it’s not just over there—trying to kill Americans every week. It is a real threat, and it is a threat that is much more at home now than it was after 9/11,” Walsh said.

In March, a man arrested for shooting two cops in Ferguson, Missouri was identified as a Black Lives Matter protester.

“Yes. He is a demonstrator, he was out there earlier that evening as part of the demonstration, he’s been out there on other occasions as part of the demonstrations,” said St. Louis county prosecutor Bob McCulloch.

While the murder of police in Dallas cannot be attributed directly to Black Lives Matter, the group’s angry rhetoric and racist diatribes are at minimum a catalyst for violence.

BLM’s philosophical foundation is attributed to Assata Shakur, aka Joanne Deborah Chesimard, a radical feminist and Marxist revolutionary who escaped prison in 1979 while serving a life sentence for the murder of New Jersey State Trooper Werner Foerster.

Following the death of Alton Sterling in Louisiana earlier this week, members of the group took to Twitter and promised riots and violence.

“If you are assembling to riot for #AltonSterling dont do it in a densely populated area for the oppressed. Riot in a privileged neighborhood,” said Camlet.

In March, prominent Black Lives Matter activist and rapper Tef Poe said if Donald Trump wins the presidency in November, “niggas” will “incite riots everywhere.”

Poe is one of the co-founders of Hands Up United, a “social justice” organization that emerged after the death of Michael Brown that was responsible for coordinating large BLM protests in the St. Louis area.
