If you believe anything Christina Romer says, you should have your head examined. Romer, chairwoman of the White House Council of Economic Advisers, says the nation’s flailing economy will be rebounding by 2010, reports the Associated Press. Romer is ”incredibly confident” Obama’s policies will ”do the job” for the economy.

Sure, and daisies grow bountiful on the dark side of the moon.

Obama

Sarcasm aside, congressional Republicans are predicting a doomsday scenario of crushing debt and eventual federal bankruptcy if President Barack Obama’s massive spending blueprint wins passage, according to the AP.

Republicans make sense even if they are responsible for the current situation. Most of them backed Bush and his grow the government budgets and the doubling of the national debt.

“Administration officials — and the president himself — have taken a cheerier tone despite economic indicators that are anything but positive.”

Obama cheery tone is simply a way to fool the plebs who are freaking out over the economic prospects. It might work for some of the people some of the time, but will not work for the unemployed, the foreclosed, and the increasing numbers of homeless.

Not only is Obama cheery, he had himself a chuckle over the economy. “In a TV interview, Obama himself laughed when discussing the dire state of parts of the economy.”

“There’s got to be a little gallows humor to get you through the day,” Obama said.

Gallows humor for Obama, ruin and destitution for countless others.
