The Democratic Party is preparing to roll out a slew of female presidential candidates to take on President Trump in 2020, according to several liberal publications.
And they’re poised to exploit the #MeToo movement to propel their female candidates to beat the billionaire president in 2020.
“The MeToo movement is a powerful force that could lead to Democratic midterm wins in 2018 and victory in the 2020 presidential race,” said Democratic strategist Brad Bannon on Tuesday.
“The presence of a female candidate way at the top of the ticket in 2020 would be the best way to harness the energy of the MeToo force; a powerful current ignited by Harvey Weinstein’s behavior that could undermine Donald Trump’s campaign for a second presidential term.”
The #MeToo movement started when allegations of groping and assault by now-disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein surfaced in the New Yorker in October, sparking a cultural movement aimed at exposing sexual impropriety by male colleagues which extended into many sectors, including music, news, and government.
“I’d like to believe that the party will be most eager to put forth a candidate who embraces the #MeToo movement,” said Democratic consultant Traci Sefl. “To whatever close degree the movement resonates with that candidate, woman or man, we need a candidate who be interested in helping propel this stunning cultural shift.”
But identity politics also continues to be a large driver for the Democrats in their emergence of potential female candidates, as their voter base view minority women as the perfect diametric solution to a Trump presidency.
“The 2020 Democratic primary landscape looks to be tilted to another woman presidential nominee,” reported POLITICO in November.
“In 2016, women composed nearly 60 percent of the Democratic presidential primary electorate, many of whom are understandably pining for the karmic justice of defeating Trump with shards from a glass ceiling that Hillary Clinton could not break.”
Names fawned over by the media as possible contenders against Trump include Sens. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.), Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), Oprah Winfrey, Michelle Obama, and even Hillary Clinton.
Additionally, because of the #MeToo movement and corporate media brainwashing about Trump, nearly twice as many women – mostly Democrats – are running for Congress in 2018 than they did in 2016.
“At latest count, 431 women were running for or were likely to run for the House nationwide — 339 Democrats and 92 Republicans,” NPR reported Tuesday.
It seems, to the Democrats, one thing is clear: white men need not apply.
“It’s not going to be two white men, I can tell you that,” one Senator said.
