In spite of low approval ratings, Obama still remains much more popular with Hispanics than he does with the overall population. A poll released on November 10 by Univision, the Latino television network, showed 48 percent of Americans approved of Obama’s job performance while Hispanics give him a 66 percent job approval rating.
The Democrats are counting on strong support from Latinos to hand them a decisive victory in 2012, even though their Hispanic leaders complain about immigration reform moving too slowly under President Barack Obama.
Increasingly, no party or candidate with an eye toward Washington can afford not to appeal to this fastest-growing voter bloc in the country, especially since it’s common knowledge illegal aliens especially from Mexico are voting in violation of U.S. election laws.
“The sad truth is most of these Latinos don’t speak, understand or read English and so they depend on their leaders — especially those progressive ones tied to the Democrat Party — for political information. And guess what? They’re being lied to,” claims former NYPD police commander and security executive Benjamin “Carlito” Vasquez.
