Dear Protestors:
I respect the great tradition of taking to the streets to air your grievances.
I have been there many times, but I did not see you.
My friends and I missed you when we were protesting the bombing of hospitals and illegal wars.
We missed you at Occupy Peace and the other anti-war rallies we attended and helped organize over the last 8 years.
I have not seen you working to expose the destruction of our civil liberties or the illegal spying on citizens that Obama promised to stop.
I doubt very much that you have donated to or volunteered to work for anti-war and pro-liberty groups who are fighting to stop senseless wars before they start and restore our basic freedoms.
It’s been lonely out there.
I understand your shock at the victory of Donald Trump.
It is a miracle that he won considering the fact that the entire corrupt system was against him.
The media, the Wall St. elite, the establishment of Both major political parties and dictatorships like the Saudis all spent fortunes to destroy him by attributing all the evil in the world to him.
I know you have been told that your candidate held the moral high ground because you have been herded into echo chambers of hate where you were encouraged to remember only the evidence that confirms your prejudice and to discard anything to the contrary.
It’s no wonder that after a year of being subjected to a concerted media onslaught of negative press and a billion dollar demonization campaign launched by Hillary that people are filled with hatred.
Hillary’s negative ads were relentless and vicious and the media regurgitated her talking points stretching the two minutes of hate into hours.
(Two Minutes of Hate is a film featured in the book 1984 which was required brainwashing for Party members. By dehumanizing the opposition, the Party is attempting to whip them into a frenzy of loathing for the current enemy of the superstate. It is not uncommon for those caught up in the hate to physically assault or throw things at the telescreen. The Two Minutes Hate is said to satisfy the citizens’ subdued feelings of angst and hatred from leading such a wretched, controlled existence. By re-directing these subconscious feelings away from the Party and toward external enemies, the Party minimizes subversive thought and behavior.)
By projecting all of our fears and failures onto the enemy we are able to then destroy the parts of ourselves that we despise by destroying them.
We have been warned repeatedly that Trump is the next Hitler or represents the KKK and that he hates everyone except white men.
These outrageous exaggerations and smears were designed to deflect attention away from the mountain of evidence of Clinton’s career of destruction and corruption.
Now that Hillary has been defeated by an election process that can’t possibly rigged according to the current president, it is time to stop the madness and accept the result.
You don’t have to like Trump, but attacking his supporters instead of trying to understand them achieves nothing.
He is a flawed man, but his supporters are your friends, your family, your neighbors.
They are not some fringe hate group, no matter what hysterical talking points you have heard on the discredited mainstream media.
Reach out to them and ask them why they voted for Trump instead of making assumptions that are unfair and almost certainly untrue.
Hate itself is a powerful motivator that taps into our atavistic survival instincts and not all hate is bad.
My hope is that the seething and largely manufactured hate for Trump be redirected and channeled into hatred for war, tyranny and corrupt systems of oppression.
