In a telephone call from a Virginia prison in the Southwest, D.C. sniper Lee Malvo admitted to actor William Shatner that others, at least two, were involved. Malvo claims the two co-conspirators backed out.
“There was supposed to be three to four snipers with silenced weapons,”Malvo said. “In this way we could do a lot more damage along the entire Eastern Seaboard.”
Malvo told Shatner that one of the co-conspirators was killed by John Allen Mohammed, the other sniper, who, along with Malvo, terrorized the D.C. Metropolitan area in 2002; killing 17. Mohammed was executed last year by the state of Virginia.
