Michael Chertoff, Assistant Attorney General David Kris, and the FBI are warning about the threat of homegrown terrorism. “Now we’re beginning to see the predictions coming true,” said Chertoff, the former Homeland Security boss. He says we have mere months before the terrorists strike.

Kris declares we face a “constantly evolving” threat from radicalized jihadists in our midst. “Individuals can be radicalized in a number of ways — by direct contact with terrorists abroad or in the United States, over the Internet or on their own through a process of self-radicalization,” he warned.

Meanwhile, FBI special agent Brett Hovington tells the Associated Press the government needs to do more scientific research around the country on why Americans are becoming radicalized and turning toward violent extremism.

In order to support the dubious contention that America faces an ominous terrorist threat from within, the Associated Press rolls out the usual suspects: Army Maj. Nidal Hasan, Najibullah Zazi, Daniel Boyd, Anwar Awlaki, Sharif Mobley, and Jihad Jane, Colleen LaRose.

Let’s begin with Hasan. The demented Army psychiatrist was listed as a participant in a Homeland Security Policy Institute’s presidential transition task force last year. The FBI knew about Hasan’s emails to al-Qaeda but did nothing about it (maybe the agency needs to do more scientific research into way it continually ignores supposed terror threats). Hasan sent between 10 to 20 emails to several terror-related Islamic figures, including Anwar Awlaki. In addition to the FBI, the U.S. Army and intelligence were well aware of Hasan.

Awlaki, as imam-provocateur (and a connoisseur of prostitutes), shepherded Khalid al-Midhar, Nawaf al-Hazmi, and the amazing stunt pilot, Hani Hanjour, at his Dar al-Hijra mosque in Falls, Church, Virginia, prior to September 11, 2001. The 9/11 commission report expressed “suspicion” about the coincidence of three key figures in the attacks rubbing elbows with Awlaki, but said its investigators were unable to find him in Yemen to ask questions.

The U.S. is not interested in extraditing Awlaki and did not ask Yemen to do so in 2006 when the country had him in custody. Instead, we are told the U.S. wants him dead. In December, it was reported that an air raid in Yemen had killed the internet imam, but it later turned out he was alive.

Mr. Awlaki is a valuable asset in the global all-terrorism, all-the-time propaganda war and will not be killed anytime soon.

Earlier today, it was reported that he continues to add color to the domestic terrorist mythology. “The American-born Muslim cleric who may have inspired the gunman in the Fort Hood massacre has a message for other American Muslims: turn against your country,” reports the New York Daily News. “A New Jersey man, Sharif Mobley, arrested last week in Yemen after killing a guard in a hospital made a pilgrimage to that country to meet and train with Al-Awlaki, CNN reported.”

Sharif Mobley is the American nuclear power plant worker who was apprehended during a sweep of al-Qaeda cells in the impoverished country, or so the government in Yemen claims as it bends over backwards to please the U.S. and get some desperately needed money. Mobley apparently killed a hospital guard while in custody.

Fox News propaganda on Sharif Mobley.

“Sharif Mobley, who grew up in New Jersey, is linked to the same al Qaida branch behind the failed Christmas Day plane bombing, reports CBS station WCBS-TV in New York City,” CBS News reported on March 12.

Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, variously known as the underwear bomber and fizzle pants, was allowed to board Flight 253 out of Amsterdam, even though he was under surveillance by MI5 and was put on a terror watch list after his father alerted U.S. officials. The late senator Kennedy was on a no-fly list but not Abdulmutallab. So important was the ill-fated Nigerian, the State Department refused to revoke his visa on two occasions.

Najibullah Zazi is the Colorado airport shuttle driver who was arrested and charged with plotting to manufacture bombs with beauty salon hydrogen peroxide. He was supposedly recruited by the documented CIA asset al-Qaeda while visiting his wife (a cousin in an arranged marriage) in Pakistan and taken to a training camp in Waziristan. If we are to believe the official story, he was instructed by al-Qaeda to bomb a Long Island Railroad commuter train in New York’s Penn Station with beauty supplies.

“This dumb ass actually bought large volumes of beauty supplies that contained hydrogen peroxide to make TATP, the explosive involved in the 2005 bombings of the London transit system, another MI5/6 op, which had a parallel terror-drill running with it as on 9/11,” writes Jerry Mazza.

Daniel Patrick Boyd, a North Carolina drywaller, was arrested in July of 2009 along with his adult sons and four other North Carolina men. They are accused of plotting violent jihad, although the federal indictment against them does not detail any specific terrorist plans or targets overseas, according to the Associated Press. In September, it was revealed they planned to attack the Marine Corps Base at Quantico, Virginia.

It appears the only case the government has against Boyd and his fellow Muslim converts is that they liked to conduct military training drills on the Virginia border and Boyd’s alleged “growing stockpile of armor-piercing assault weapons,” according to the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force and The Washington Post.

Boyd — a near perfect candidate to serve as the poster child (along with Jihad Jane) for the manufactured blonde homegrown terror threat — was mysteriously in possession of a book that FBI special agent Michael Sutton called “essentially our playbook to how we respond to acts of terrorism,” CNN reported on August 4, 2009.

Next up, Jihad Jane and her exonerated blonde twin, Jihad Jamie. Both served as fodder for the Pentagon’s propaganda campaign (via the the Pentagon’s Office of Strategic Influence ensconed in CNN newsrooms).

Jihad Jane, formerly known as Colleen LaRose, is a mentally disturbed Pennsylvania woman accused of trolling the internet in the name of a Muslim holy war. She was arrested with seven people over a supposed plot to kill Lars Vilks, a Swedish cartoonist who had an al-Qaeda bounty put on his head after depicting the prophet Mohammed with the body of a dog.

Sensationalistic Fox News report on Jihad Jane.

“Authorities were on her trail as early as July 2009, when the FBI interviewed her about more than a year’s worth of online posts and messages, including a 2008 YouTube video in which she said she was ‘desperate to do something’ to ease the suffering of Muslims,” reports the Associated Press.

Eve Conant, writing for Newsweek, declares that the Jihad Jane case proves that illegal domestic surveillance conducted by the FBI and the NSA works. As it turns out, it was not the FBI that surveiled LaRose, but a group of internet sleuths. If crazy Jihad Jane is the best they can come up with, they need to redouble their efforts.

LaRose pleaded not guilty this morning to charges she conspired to support terrorists and kill a person in a foreign country. If convicted, she faces a possible life sentence in prison and a $1 million fine.

Jaime Paulin-Ramirez, aka Jihad Jamie, “had been searching for something or someone, as way to identify herself,” according to her brother. “Ramirez’s mother found items on the home computer that suggested a link to terrorists. Frightened, she contacted authorities, but with no luck,” reports KHOU. “They were like still brushing her off, like she was a crazy old lady, ‘oh wow, so your mom notified authorities in Colorado — called the FBI,’” said Michael Holcomb, her brother. “Jihad Jaime…disgusting,” he added.

Disgusting or not, the corporate media had a field day with the baseless accusations swirling around Jaime Paulin-Ramirez following the sensationalized accusations against LaRose. Irish police released Paulin-Ramirez without charge in the supposed plot to murder Lars Vilks.

Chertoff, the FBI, and the entire homegrown terror threat cottage industry will have a difficult time making headway with such pathetic would-be terrorists. Even with a scarcity of convincing evidence that homegrown terrorists pose a threat, they are determined to build a case that al-Qaeda’s blonde and blue-eyed comrades are posed to strike and it is only a matter of months and years, as Chertoff put it, before they are successful.

It appears more likely they are building a case to be used immediately after the next false flag attack. “All that is necessary for success of ‘false flag’ or ‘black ops’ events is for the government to have its story ready and to have a reliable and compliant media. Once an official story is in place, thought and investigation are precluded. Any formal inquiry that is convened serves to buttress the already provided explanation,” writes Paul Craig Roberts for Infowars.com today.

“The next step will be a staged ‘terrorist attack,’ a ‘false flag’ operation as per Operation Northwoods, for which Iran will be blamed,” Roberts continues. “As Iran and its leadership have already been demonized, the ‘false flag’ attack will suffice to obtain US and European public support for bombing Iran. The bombing will include more than the nuclear facilities and will continue until the Iranians agree to regime change and the installation of a puppet government.”

The incessant drumbeat of blonde terrorists lurking in the heartland of America and dedicated to holy war against the infidels is obviously part of a preparatory phase of this coming false flag event.
