Former Secretary of State Colin Powell hit out at Hillary Clinton late Sunday, saying that she has been wrongly trying to blame her use of a private email server to send classified information on his advice.

Last week it was reported that during her interview with the FBI, Clinton said that she had used a private server on the advice of Powell. Clinton has also repeatedly publicly claimed that Colin Powell used a private email server, as a way of justifying her own indiscretions.

Powell, however, says Clinton is lying.

“The truth is she was using it for a year before I sent her a memo telling her what I did [during my term as Secretary of State],” he said in comments to the New York Post’s Page Six.

“Her people have been trying to pin it on me.” Powell added.

The Post reported that “despite appearing angered by the situation,” Powell added, “It doesn’t bother me. It’s OK, I’m free.”

It is well documented that Powell did use a private email server while he was Secretary of State. However, he had the State Department set it up, was in constant communication with them, and NEVER used it to send classified information – all rules that Hillary failed to follow.

Powell’s office has also said that he has no recollection of ever advising Clinton to use a private email server.

Hillary Clinton has consistently lied about her email use, denying she sent classified information, and that she has not turned over all the emails to the FBI, even after the FBI director James Comey said she had sent classified material and emails were missing.

Hillary’s husband, Bill Clinton has also lied about Hillary’s email use, as this video put together by the Washington Free Beacon highlights.
