The headlines are filled with claims by a California left-wing professor that Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh tried to sexually assault her while both were drunk and at a high-school party more than three decades ago.
Kavanaugh vehemently denies the claim, but Democrats have stated they believe her, and the result could be a failed nomination.
Republicans have questioned the timing of the claim being raised, noting Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., was informed of it in July and brought it up only a week ago, after the hearings had been completed.
The seat Kavanaugh has been nominated to fill is significant, as it was held by a swing-vote justice who many times sided with the court’s liberal side. Democrats have made dire warnings that confirming Kavanaugh would threaten abortion rights and the rights of gays, women and minorities.
Country music superstar Charlie Daniels, in his Soap Box commentary, says it’s worse than that.
