U.S. Border Patrol agents seized more than $6.6 million worth of marijuana — nearly 8,400 pounds — over the weekend.

The largest seizure occurred at the Falfurrias checkpoint, where agents arrested a man found with about 3,500 pounds of marijuana in a tractor-trailer, according to an agency news release sent Monday.

Agents also recovered a vehicle heading away from the Rio Grande on Saturday near Los Ebanos. Upon finding the vehicle abandoned, agents seized about 1,400 pounds of marijuana.
