Sources report this evening that the terminal at the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International airport in Alabama has been evacuated because of a threat. The airport Facebook page and web page announced the evacuation but did not elaborate.
The evacuation occurred two days after a mentally disturbed man allegedly killed a TSA agent at LAX in Los Angeles, California. It is not know if the incident in Alabama is related to the TSA or terrorism.
Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International airport is the largest and busiest airport in the state of Alabama.
