As the Qatari government launches the American version of their news outlet Al-Jazeera, they face accusations of attempting to foment citizen outrage by allegedly airing hoax videos of Muslim Brotherhood protesters suffering faked injuries.
The first video shows a protester who seemingly suffered fatal injuries apparently lifting his leg.
On Saturday, Infowars also reported on another video that purported to show Muslim Brotherhood crisis actors posing for photo ops of injuries and deaths.
The supposed staging of these acts is puzzling as there is undoubtedly plenty of actual chaos to report on where real Morsi supporters have been killed by the Egyptian military junta.
In the past, the Qatari government has been known to use Al Jazeera as a propaganda tool against their political enemies.
Qatar also has historic ties to the Muslim Brotherhood.
According to one report, “…Qatar is the home of one of the most prominent and outspoken Muslim Brotherhood theologians, Dr. Yusuf al-Qaradawi, the Dean of Islamic Studies at the University of Qatar, who also works out of London as head of the Islamic Council of Europe.” Al-Qaradawi, the report says, could have been the Muslim Brotherhood influence that disrupted a deal to turn over Khalid Sheikh Mohammed – the supposed “principal architect of the 9/11 attacks” according to the 9/11 Commission Report – to American authorities.
The Qatari government has also reportedly backed Al Qaeda elements in Mali and is working with Al Qaeda in Syria to topple the al-Assad regime.
Last April, The Tower.org reported that “In Libya, Qatar was at the forefront of Arab military and financial support for the NATO and Libyan rebel forces that unseated Muammar Gaddafi.”
