President Obama on Thursday re-nominated a campaign fundraiser whose nomination as ambassador to the Netherlands was withdrawn last year following a drunk driving arrest.
Timothy Broas’s nomination was withdrawn in June 2012 just days after his arrest in suburban Washington on charges of speeding, drunk driving and resisting arrest.
The latter two charges were later dismissed, and Broas pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of driving while impaired.
