An FBI expert gave frightening testimony yesterday about New York’s close call with al Qaeda’s explosive terrorist recipes.
Kirk Yeager detailed how a post-9/11 al Qaeda plot to strike packed New York City subway lines with suicide bomb blasts at the height of rush hour would have led to significant destruction and death.
The force of an initial blast would kill anyone standing near the bomber, and the shrapnel in the plotters’ backpacks, along with flying, shredded pieces of the subway car’s interior, would fatally cut down many others, he testified.
